At just 10 years old, Jose’s journey with cancer began unexpectedly. In October 2023, he experienced a persistent fever for three months. Initially diagnosed with a blood mutation at Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, his condition took a turn, and in April of 2024, he was officially diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. Throughout his treatment, Jose found comfort in the kindness of Dr. Gupta and nurses, forming special bonds with staff members like Maria, Sylvia, and Claudia, who guided and supported his family every step of the way.
Now, with treatment behind him, Jose is embracing life to the fullest. He dreams big—aspiring to become a firefighter, an astronaut, or even an oncologist to help other kids fighting cancer. When he's not busy exploring new adventures, he enjoys art, organizing, and playing Minecraft, with Steve as his favorite character. He’s excited for the future, filled with possibilities, and, of course, plenty of ice cream!
