At just 2 years old, she was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis and an optic nerve glioma—a tumor so large it caused her right eye to protrude from the eye socket, putting her at risk of complete blindness. Marley suddenly had a port placed and began treatment at the Cure 4 The Kids Foundation. She faced many challenges, including numerous doctor’s visits and trips to Primary Children’s Hospital in Utah. After five years of chemotherapy, Marley underwent surgery in June 2023 to remove both the tumor and her eye. Through it all, her happy personality, love for music, singing, and dancing—along with the support of her family and the caring staff at Cure 4 The Kids—helped her persevere.
Now, just days after her 9th birthday, Marley is celebrating one year off chemo and is excited to ring the bell. She is looking forward to living life to the fullest, going camping, fishing, and embarking on as many adventures as possible. She also dreams of becoming a singer, just like her favorite artist, Taylor Swift.
